University isn't for everyone. So, if we want to build a more successful economy in Wales, we need to treat vocational qualifications on a par with university degrees.
That's why it's disappointing that the Welsh Labour Government cut funding for apprenticeships in their latest budget, preventing young people getting the skills they need to build the economy of the future.
I got my hands dirty with Colegau Cymru, learning carpentry skills and did some virtual reality house-building to learn more about the work our apprentices do.
Safe to say there's no future for me in the trade, but we need to make sure every young person who wants to learn a skill like this is able to do so!
